Nursing Facilities Generalist Surveyor - Starting Market Rate Salary $56,535.00

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, this position participates as a team member or team coordinator conducting inspections, surveys, and investigations in Long Term Care facilities (Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Day Activities and Health Services) to determine compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and rules. Completes inspection/survey reports listing deficiencies/violations and prepares written reports supporting the action and remedies recommended.

This position offers a competitive starting salary; excellent state benefits, including health insurance and retirement; and the opportunity to regularly travel to different facilities within a region and across the state - Please see the Additional Information section below for more detail on travel. In this front-line field position, a surveyor is mobile and flexible and performs minimal work at an office, though the role does require writing reports detailing any deficiencies/violations against a facility, remedies to correct those deficiencies, and narrative to support regulatory determinations.

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

Conducts certification surveys, licensure inspections, or investigations in facilities to determine compliance with federal and state regulations. Prepares inspection/survey reports listing deficiencies.

Visits facilities to verify correction of previously cited regulatory violations.

Conducts exit conferences with facility staff regarding findings.

Communicates on a complex level with others (internally or externally) to provide, exchange, or verify information, answer inquiries, address issues, or resolve problems or complaints.

Testifies at hearings or in court proceedings to provide information regarding policy/procedures, history, findings, or activities.

Performs quality assurance reviews of documents prepared by others, for example, publications, assessments, reports).

Completes referrals for conduct, as appropriate.
