Position Summary
A physical therapist with certification in lymphedema therapy shall plan, direct and perform physical therapy evaluations and care plans individualized to meet the need of each patient with lymphedema. Care plans shall be developed that promote restoration of function, restoration and maintenance of skin integrity, improvement in muscle strength, education of the patient and their families about lymphedema management principles, the prevention of deformities through exercise and positioning programs and/or pain management.
Responsibilities include participation in scheduling of patient treatments, multidisciplinary care planning and patient education, and team support of other areas of service besides their assigned home department.

Qualifications- Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved physical therapy program;
Completion of certification program for lymphedema management - Minimum Experience: Required Certification: BCLS within 3 months of date of hire
- Required Licensure: Texas Physical Therapy License or temporary license is adequate with permanent license obtained by 6 months after date of hire; certification in lymphedema management
