We are seeking an experienced accounting professional with retail, service, or automotive industry experience that has a strong understanding of month end close, bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and strong Excel skills. The ideal candidate has prior experience working within the retail, service, or automotive spaces. This is a hands‑on role focused heavily on month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

• Take ownership of the monthly close process.
• Perform and review account reconciliations with strong attention to detail.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations while an additional staff member handles transactional AP/AR.
• Provide review and guidance over transactional work.
• Ensure accuracy in general ledger activity and reporting.
• Improve accounting workflows and internal controls.

Strong Excel skills including importing and exporting of data, handling data sets, and generating reports.

• Proven ability to perform detailed account reconciliations.
• Experience preparing financial statements independently.
• Hands‑on Texas sales tax experience (preferred).
• Audit background nice to have.
• High sense of urgency and strong follow‑through.
• Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Comfortable operating autonomously and taking initiative.
• Direct report experience is a plus but not required.

• Onsite role within Texas.
• Fully remote is not an option at this time.

• Accurate and timely month‑end close.
• Clean reconciliations with minimal oversight required.
• Reliable financial statements leadership can confidently use for planning and strategy.
• Proactive troubleshooting of operational accounting issues.
• Strong ownership and urgency in driving accounting excellence.
