Enders Island isseeking an experienced full time book keeper to support the accounting and financial reporting of Saint Edmunds Retreat. The full time book keeper plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the financial integrity of the organization.

The ideal candidate will support day-to-day bookkeeping and financial record keeping activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process deposits in a timely and accurate manner
  • Perform transaction entry and coding, and upload transactions into Quick Books
  • Maintain accurate and well‑organized financial records and supporting documentation in accordance with internal procedures
  • Prepare and complete bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain segregation of restricted and unrestricted fund activities/projects
  • Post Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions including invoice verification and payment processing
  • Post revenue transactions from various subledgers and reconcile to the general ledger
  • Assist as needed with finance department activities and support internal controls
  • Prepare financial reports and documentation as requested
  • Ability to read and assist with financial statements, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information
  • Perform ad hoc financial and administrative tasks as requested
Qualifications:
  • Education:

    Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field preferred
  • Experience:

    1–2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, with preference for non‑profit experience
  • Skills:

    Proficiency in Quick Books and Excel, strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, ability to work independently, ability to manage multiple priorities, and ability to read and assist in the preparation of financial statements including Income, Balance, and Cash Flow Statements
