Tasks and Duties
- Exercise safe working practice always following company policies.
- Inspect and diagnose mechanical/electrical systems on the Automated Baggage System and the Passenger Boarding Bridges including the PCair units (HVAC)
- Preform Specified preventive maintenance and Corrective action
- Communicate with parties on the work performed and present status of specialty system. Interpret engineering drawings for troubleshooting, layout, location, and operation of the systems.
- Monitor, report and respond to alarms, Warnings or reported problems for other parties
- Complete tasks assigned daily as well as respond to problems reported through the shift
- Attended to all call outs, faults, alarm, bag jams and warnings. Then resetting the faults to restore the systems back to normal.
- Accurately record description of work, inventory, and time in Maximo
- Material Handling Maintenance Experience preferred
- 3+ years of HVAC or technical experience in industrial environment
- 1+ years’ experience as a Commercial HVAC Service Technician
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Technical experience in an industrial environment
- Valid Driver’s License
Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge
Preferred Qualifications / Skills- EPA Card/ Knowledge of Commercial Air Conditioning and Refrigeration is required
- Working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical systems and Controls (PLC’s, VFD’s etc.) Allen Bradley preferred
- Metal Fabrication (Welding, Cutting, etc.)
- 10 Hour OSHA Certification preferred
- Flexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs
- Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customer and service oriented
- Proactive and strong work ethic and initiative, who would like to grow and develop within the organization.
- Working knowledge of computers and equipment
- Ability to solve problems under pressure
- Pro-active attitude towards process improvement
Full time position; 24/7 operation; overtime, weekend and holiday work are common. Flexibility is required.
Work Environment and Physical DemandsThe work environment/physical requirements described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job:
Technicians work in secured baggage handling areas, in repair stations, or on airfields. They often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.
Workers frequently bend, stoop, and reach from ladders and scaffolds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
They will be lifting parts and tools for extended periods of time and handling equipment such as conveyor systems. Technicians identify and fix mechanical problems with machinery, and they commonly work with greasy parts and tools, sometimes in uncomfortable positions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts and vibration.
