Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an Entry Level Registered Nurse to join our Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). The Outpatient RN (CAP
1) will provide clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. The role involves delegation, teamwork, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and facility operations.

• Perform all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor, or other Registered Nurses.
• Collect and analyze patient data pre‑, during‑, and post‑hemodialysis, document findings, adjust treatment plans as needed, and notify the Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Physician.
• Assess, collaborate, and document patient and family learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education.
• Direct and provide safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with direct and ancillary staff.
• Administer medications as prescribed or according to approved algorithms and document medical justification and effectiveness.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
• Serve as a resource for the healthcare team, participate in staff training, and orient new staff as assigned.
• Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures; reschedule missed or insufficient collections.
• Identify expected outcomes, update nursing assessment and plan of care in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options.
• Complete CAP requirements to advance.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

• Provide direct patient care that involves heavy lifting, patient movement, and ambulation assistance.
• Require frequent, prolonged periods of standing and the ability to bend over.
• Occasionally move machines and equipment up to 200 lbs.; lift chemical and water solutions up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet.
• Work environment is a healthcare facility with air‑conditioned temperature control and moderate noise levels.
• Potential exposure to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.
• Include desk and computer work, patient interaction, and collaboration with facility staff and physicians.
• May require travel to training sites or other facilities.
• May need to provide essential functions at other locations with the same physical demands and working conditions.

• Oversee Patient Care Technicians, LPNs, LVNs, and RNs as Team Leader or designated Nurse in Charge after completing FKC education and training.
• Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as an RN.
• Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as an RN.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Meet the practice requirements in the state of employment.

• Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience is preferred.
