Job description:

A banquet server is responsible for providing food and beverage service at events such as weddings, conferences, corporate dinners, and parties. Their duties typically include:

Job responsibilities:

• Event Setup
  • Arrange tables, chairs, linens, silverware, glassware, and décor according to event plans.
  • Prepare buffet stations, beverage stations, and place settings.
• Guest Service
  • Greet guests and ensure they are comfortable.
  • Serve plated meals, beverages, and appetizers.
  • Refill drinks, clear plates, and maintain tidy tables.
  • Answer guest questions about menu items.
• Food & Beverage Handling
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Deliver dishes from the kitchen to the banquet area.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down bars or dessert stations.
• Event Support
  • Follow instructions from banquet captains or event supervisors.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
  • Adapt to event changes or guest needs quickly.
• Post-Event Duties
  • Clear all tables and remove dishes.
  • Clean and reset the banquet room.
  • Return equipment, linens, and supplies to proper storage.
  • Communicate any issues or guest feedback to the supervisor.
