Senior Project Engineer – Residential Land Development

Location:

Myrtle Beach, SC | Fortune 500-Level Benefits

Are you a seasoned civil engineer with a strong background in residential land development? We’re working with a nationally recognized, prominent home builder / real estate developer that’s actively hiring a Senior Project Engineer to join their growing Myrtle Beach operation. This is an opportunity to step into a key role with high visibility, autonomy, and the chance to directly shape the built environment in one of the fastest-growing regions of the Southeast.

This firm is a major force in the U.S. residential market—delivering high-quality communities across the country—and they're seeking a civil engineering professional who can manage the full life cycle of land development projects, from feasibility through final construction.

Why This Role?
  • Big Impact: You'll play a hands-on role in the design and delivery of large-scale residential communities that define local growth.

  • High Autonomy: Lead feasibility studies, manage consultants, coordinate with agencies, and deliver projects with minimal red tape.

  • Strong Support: Backed by a national brand with deep resources, yet operating with the agility of a local office.

  • Great Location: Myrtle Beach continues to see strong housing demand—meaning steady work, exciting projects, and an unbeatable lifestyle.

  • Fortune 500-Level Benefits: Medical, dental, 401(k), stock purchase plan, paid time off, life insurance, and more.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new land acquisitions—including cost estimating, constraint mapping, and scheduling.

  • Manage design plan production for residential communities and site infrastructure—working closely with consultants and permitting agencies.

  • Oversee construction phase services, such as site visits, pay app reviews, and contractor coordination.

  • Prepare engineering reports, grading plans, drainage designs, pavement specs, and utility layouts.

  • Stay up to date with local, state, and federal regulations, ensuring every project meets compliance from start to finish.

  • Analyze and improve project processes through value engineering and design innovation.

  • Help maintain momentum across multiple projects by coordinating internal teams, securing resources, and maintaining timelines.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

  • Active PE license in South Carolina (or ability to obtain).

  • 7+ years of engineering experience in residential land development.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Office, and hydrology modeling tools (e.g., ICPR4, HEC-RAS, Pond Pack, etc.).

  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.

  • A collaborative attitude with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

  • Bonus points for experience with ArcGIS and familiarity with land development practices along the Carolina coast.

If you're ready to take on a high-impact role with a national builder committed to long-term growth and quality development, this could be your next great move.

Let’s talk.
