Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment -- including excavators, loaders, and bulldozers -- to move materials and complete utility tasks
- Assist crews with setting grade, trench safety, and utility layout
- Ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of quality
- Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs as needed
- Communicate regularly with other crew members, foremen, and subcontractors
- Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures at all times
- Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction
- Previous utility construction experience (water, sanitary, sewer, storm) required
- Understanding of trench safety, digging around utilities, and safe operating practices
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to the Muskogee jobsite
