Heavy Equipment Operator

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to work on an active jobsite in the Muskogee area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underground utilities and be proficient operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently to ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budget.


Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment -- including excavators, loaders, and bulldozers -- to move materials and complete utility tasks
• Assist crews with setting grade, trench safety, and utility layout
• Ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of quality
• Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs as needed
• Communicate regularly with other crew members, foremen, and subcontractors
• Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures at all times
• Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction
• Previous utility construction experience (water, sanitary, sewer, storm) required
• Understanding of trench safety, digging around utilities, and safe operating practices
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Reliable transportation to the Muskogee jobsite
