Overview

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge and experience in repairing and maintaining heavy machinery, including diesel engines and industrial equipment. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet, which includes tractor-trailers and other heavy-duty vehicles. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will work in a dynamic environment where your expertise will contribute to the overall success of our operations.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy equipment, including diesel engines and industrial machinery.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance of equipment.
  • Assemble and disassemble various components of heavy machinery as needed.
  • Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical assemblies effectively.
  • Operate forklifts and other machinery safely while conducting repairs or moving equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
  • Collaborate with service technicians to address complex mechanical problems efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while working in the shop or field.
Requirements

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or in a similar role within a dealership or industrial setting.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with operating forklifts and understanding of industrial equipment functionality.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics related to electrical systems and heavy machinery components.
  • Experience working with tractor-trailer systems is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing mechanical issues.
  • Prefer ASE Certification in Diesel Engine and Heavy Equipment
