Position: Registered Nurse/HealthWest FT
A registered nurse/healthwest, under general supervision, performs a wide variety of professional nursing duties in various healthwest locations in muskegon county.  An employee in this class is responsible for storage, administration, and monitoring of medications prescribed for individuals receiving services as well as for the administration of medical treatment to these individuals as authorized by a physician.  An employee in this class performs other related duties as required.

1.
Possess a current license to practice nursing in the state of michigan

     Or

Must have completed college degree in rn nursing curriculum, be eligible to take the nclex, pass the nclex and obtain an rn license within 90 days of appointment to position;

2.
Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.

3.
Individuals in recovery and individuals with experience in armed services valued.

4.
Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a michigan driver license within 30 days of employment.

5.
Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.

Physical activities

A registered nurse/healthwest performs generally sedentary work activities requiring the lifting of objects weighing thirty-five (35) pounds or less; however, must be able to perform physical intervention activities as required.

An employee in this class works at various healthwest program locations with travel throughout the county required.

Evaluation content

Applicants for county employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.  Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent.
