Practical Nurse at Earnest

C. Brooks Correctional Facility. This employee performs a full range of practical nurse assignments under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing care to convicted felons at the facility.

• Provide practical nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Possession of a certificate from a practical nursing education program accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.

• The Department may screen out applicants with felony convictions in accordance with Public Act 191 of 2017.
• Applicants with misdemeanor or felony convictions are ineligible for employment until satisfactory completion of any sentence (including parole or probation).
• New hires and returning MDOC employees may complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) of 40 or 80 hours in person, depending on offender contact level and job classification, with additional required online training for non-custody onboarding.
