** Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures.
** Summary
* * A Certified Orthotist Prosthetist is a healthcare professional who is specifically educated and trained to manage comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic patient care. This includes patient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of the treatment plan, follow-up and practice management.

Job Responsibilities
*** Staff will provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification or registration and as required by law and regulation.
* Assessment of patients with impairment of human movement or musculoskeletal abnormalities that would impede their ability to participate in their social environment or other activities in order to determine a functional intervention. Produces Orthotic/Prosthetic devices as prescribed by the referring physician.
* Formulation of a treatment plan, with other health care providers as prescribed by the referring physician based upon a comprehensive assessment to design an intervention to alleviate limitations and enhance function.
* Implementation of the orthotic and/or prosthetic treatment plan, and overseeing certified assistants.
* Utilization of a follow-up treatment plan that ensures successful orthotic and prosthetic outcomes.
* Accountable for achieving financial targets and performance benchmarks as established by their manager.
