St. Leonard Catholic School in Muskego is seeking a talented Math Specialist for the 2026-27 school year. St. Leonard School serves students in grades 3K-8. We are a community where staff members, students, and parents work together to foster success in a Christian atmosphere. Leonard School.
The Middle School Math Specialist works with small groups of students in grades 5–8 to strengthen foundational math skills, build confidence, and prepare students for success in Algebra at the high school level. This position teaches four periods and focuses primarily on supporting students by providing targeted instruction, differentiated strategies, and individualized support. The Math Specialist works in collaboration with our full-time middle school math teacher to ensure all of our students receive the intervention and reinforcement needed to progress successfully through the middle school math curriculum.
The ideal candidate will support the mission of St. Leonard School that all students are growing in the image of Jesus Christ and must demonstrate:
- The ability to present lesson plans that are relevant, rigorous, differentiated, and integrate into the curriculum
- Identify student learning gaps and develop instructional plans to address specific skill deficits
- Enthusiasm for developing and maintaining a creative academic and religious oriented classroom
- Employs a variety of teaching strategies, taking into account the need to differentiate instruction for the various learning needs of the children
- Monitor and track student progress using assessments and classroom data
- Maintains open communication with parents and students and communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students’ progress and interpret the school program
- Provides a secure, comfortable, respectful, and inviting learning atmosphere which motivates and challenges students to achieve in all areas of development
- Implementing project and problem based learning and performance based assessment
- A positive approach to problem solving, collaboration, teamwork, and respect
- Current State of Wisconsin teaching license
- Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods related to students to facilitate learning
- Working knowledge of Google and capability to infuse technology into lessons to enhance learning
- Knowledge of Standards-Based Grading principles and practices
- Professional working attitude and collaborative approach
- Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
