Overview

The Interventionist provides small group interventions to students identified as having gaps in reading or math proficiency. The Interventionist works in approximately 50‑minute increments, in approximately nine‑week intervals, with small groups. Formative data is used to design instruction based on gaps in understanding or misconceptions using district‑provided resources. The interventionist’s goal is to build confidence toward independence through personal goal setting with students.

The candidate uses data to communicate student progress in the intervention to students, families, and classroom teachers. Other duties as assigned by the Administrator including AM or PM supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Provide small group interventions to address identified gaps in reading or math proficiency.
  • Deliver instruction in ~50‑minute sessions within ~nine‑week intervals, using district‑provided resources.
  • Use formative data to guide instruction and address gaps or misconceptions.
  • Foster students’ independence through personal goal setting and monitor progress.
  • Communicate student progress to students, families, and classroom teachers using data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator, including AM or PM supervision.
Qualifications
  • Certified to teach in K-8 in Wisconsin (WI). WI teaching license required.
  • Ability to work effectively with students individually or in small groups.
  • Ability to understand universal screening data (e.g., benchmarking, iReady, IXL) to assess current performance.
  • Ability to learn, customize, and deliver interventions in math (Moving with Math) and/or reading (LLI) for small groups (1–8 participants).
  • Ability to create and implement standards‑based lessons aligned to grade‑level standards in reading and math.
  • Provide input into placement decisions for universal screening teams and participate in conferences in fall and spring.
  • Submit monthly progress reports and maintain data records.
  • Strong collaboration skills with classroom teachers, literacy and math coaches, psychologists, and administration.
  • Ability to monitor progress and adjust instruction based on student data for individuals and small groups.
  • Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills, including data record keeping.
  • Flexible, able to work independently, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Google Suite or willingness to learn.
  • Willing to participate in applicable conferences/workshops and meet deadlines.
  • Positive work attitude and belief that all students can be successful.
