The Automation Engineer utilizes technology to improve, streamline, and automate manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include planning, implementation, and monitoring of automation technology to optimize manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Identify new automation opportunities
• Manage project teams when necessary
• Design, simulate, and test automation equipment and processes
• Create documentation for new equipment and processes
• Program automated components in manufacturing
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Provide training on new or modified processes
• Troubleshoot automation issues

Qualifications:

• Engineering Degree with 3-5 years' experience in a plant technical role or technical degree with 7 years’ experience, preferably in a rolling industry
• Proficiency in design, validation, and troubleshooting
• Experience with schematics, PLC programming, and low to medium voltage equipment
• Willingness to learn new technical and leadership skills
• Flexibility for remote technical support after hours
• Strong computer skills, especially in programming and software development
• Effective communication skills
• Problem-solving and creative thinking skills
