Overview
Emergency Response Technician
As an Emergency Response Technician, you will be responsible for providing Emergency Team coverage during all operating hours, inspecting and maintaining fire extinguishers and emergency response equipment, and performing evaluations and designing rescue plans for confined spaces. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and preparedness of the site by supporting fire suppression and detection systems inspections and testing.
Responsibilities- Provide Emergency Team coverage during all operating hours;
- Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers;
- Inspect and maintain emergency response equipment and tools;
- Perform evaluations of and design rescue plans for confined spaces;
- Respond to off-hours fire alarms and report;
- Support fire suppression/detection systems inspections and testing (fire pumps, sprinklers, deluge systems, etc.);
- Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall goal of the position;
- Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift.
Required Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent (GED);
- Valid Driver’s License. To be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers – MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening;
- DOT medical card or the ability to obtain one through successfully completing and passing a DOT physical. In addition, candidates must be able to meet all applicable DOT/FMCSA criteria. Drivers with previous DOT driving experience may be required to undergo FMCSA safety checks and applicable review;
- Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift;
- At least 2 years’ experience in emergency response;
- Firefighter 1 or other recognized certification;
- Medical certification - EMT or higher;
- Hazmat Technician Certification;
- General knowledge of National Incident Management System (NIMS);
- Effective prioritization of plans and execution of work;
- Ability to understand fire suppression/detection systems;
- Ability to operate all plant firefighting apparatus;
- Familiar with SAP, Word, and Excel.

Employees can expect to be paid an hourly rate of $. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
