This role is designed and intended to be performed in Muscatine, IA.
PRIMARYDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead full project execution for multiple capital and operational initiatives—from concept through startup—including scope development, scheduling, financial management, procurement, installation, check‑out, and validation while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Develop and refine technical solutions by defining project outcomes, creating designs that meet operational needs, and applying innovative engineering approaches to solve complex challenges and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across functions and vendors by partnering with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Environmental, Safety, R&D, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and external contractors to align deliverables, manage resources, and ensure seamless project execution.
- Oversee construction and contractor management by evaluating proposals, selecting optimal technical options, coordinating on‑site activities, resolving field issues, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Support operations and governance by providing technical troubleshooting assistance, maintaining accurate project documentation, delivering consistent updates on progress, risks, and budget status, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Perform additional assignments as needed to support overall project and organizational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical preferred), or a related technical degree with applicable experience. Other degrees may be considered with strong relevant manufacturing or project experience.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing or continuous process environment.
- Experience in project engineering, including managing construction and installation, coordinating vendor activities, and overseeing equipment commissioning.
- Demonstrated ability to execute multiple large scale capital projects concurrently, with emphasis on project management, productivity improvements, automation, and packaging/processing development.
- Demonstrated technical leadership through close collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Leadership Team, and External Vendors to ensure effective execution and troubleshooting.
- Experience with packaging and processing systems and working knowledge of plant manufacturing, engineering, automation, quality, and R&D functions.
- Understanding of Food Manufacturing Regulatory Requirements (GMP's, Food Safety, etc…) is beneficial.
- Experience working with EPA and OSHA regulations is beneficial.
- Ability to use AutoCAD or other relevant CAD system is beneficial.
