  • 3-5 years of experience in an in-house legal department—ideally within a construction company—or in an international law firm.
  • Prior experience working in an international group.
  • A Common Law degree is preferred.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Other languages (such as Arabic) an asset.
  • Construction experience is required.
  • Prior exposure to dispute resolution, particularly international arbitration, is considered an asset.

Position:
Legal Counsel

The Legal Counsel for STRABAG will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support across the Group’s operations, with a focus on EMEA and International Markets.

Key responsibilities
  • Legal Support for Tendering

    Activities:

    Providing legal assistance to tender teams operating in the Group’s jurisdictions. This involves reviewing and advising on tender documentation, contracts, pre-tender agreements, joint venture agreements, and related materials.
  • Legal Support for Ongoing Projects:
    Supporting live construction projects, including build-only, design-and-build, and turnkey contracts. Experience with PPP structures is considered an asset, as several countries in the region are actively pursuing such models.
  • Corporate housekeeping:
    Managing corporate governance tasks such as drafting and reviewing powers of attorney and board resolutions, as well as monitoring legal developments in relevant jurisdictions and disseminating updates within the organization.
  • Dispute resolution support:
    Assisting in dispute resolution matters, with a particular focus on international arbitration—including international and/or local institutions, and ad hoc proceedings. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong business acumen, flexibility, solid technical legal knowledge, and the ability to think and collaborate across disciplines.
