ATE Test Engineer
GSME is seeking an ATE Test Engineer based out of Muscat, Oman who can develop automated test programs for semiconductors and support new product introduction (NPI) activities. This role involves close collaboration with engineers, customers, and vendors to evaluate existing and upcoming engineering projects, resolve technical issues, and provide ongoing production support to ensure successful device ramp up. Prior experience or knowledge of semiconductor product engineering is a plus.
Key Responsibilities- Consults with customers on the basic understanding of hardware design for ATE testing.
- Implements known production solutions.
- Operates computer-assisted engineering, design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks, such as driving all the analysis tools on ATE tester to do engineering analysis.
- Loads test programs, collects data logs, and debugs failing devices. Uses data analysis tools to do engineering analysis.
- Analyzes customer device requirements and identifies optimum test methodologies.
- Manages handler/prober communications with tester.
- Communicate with customers to perform debugging and analysis on integrated circuits.
- Debugs customers test programs and suggest solutions to customers.
Education & Experience
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
7+ years of experience as a Test Engineer, Product Engineer, or closely related semiconductor engineering role
Experience with developing ATE test programs on Advantest testers, Teradyne testers, or other
Prior experience with RF, Mix Signal, Digital, and PMIC devices is a plus
Knowledge & Abilities
Knowledge of optical coupling and wafer sort
Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle multiple oriented tasks
Knowledge of semiconductor product engineering tasks and responsibilities such as yield analysis, reliability, and production optimization, is a plus
Computer Skills
Detailed knowledge:
Digital (Basic and High Speed), Mixed-signal devices and electronics components
General knowledge: RF devices and Memory devices
Software skills: C/C++, JAVA, Visual Basic
Operating Systems:
Unix or similar
Other
Tools: VNA, Spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, all other bench test equipment is a plus
