** About the Role**:  Surbana Jurong is seeking a highly experienced OHL / Underground Cable Engineer to support the design and engineering services for high-voltage transmission assets in Oman.

The role will focus on engineering, design review, and technical support for overhead transmission lines and underground cable systems ranging from 132kV to 400kV, ensuring compliance with regional utility requirements and international standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and utility stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient transmission infrastructure solutions.
** Key Responsibilities**:
* Develop and review engineering designs for overhead transmission lines and underground cable systems (132kV–400kV).
* Support route selection, corridor planning, and cable route feasibility assessments.
* Conduct line surveys, site assessments, and geotechnical reviews for transmission infrastructure.
* Prepare and review technical specifications, calculations, and engineering deliverables.
* Verify cable sizing, ampacity, thermal ratings, and pulling tension calculations.
* Review tower structural loading, foundation requirements, and design parameters.
* Coordinate with utilities and stakeholders to ensure compliance with OETC / OTEC standards and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, project schedules, and risk assessments.
* Support supervision activities, including installation, jointing, termination, and testing of HV cables.
* Assist with commissioning, energization, and defect resolution activities.
** Requirements**:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering.
* Minimum 15 years of experience in transmission engineering, including OHL and underground cable systems.
* Proven experience working on 132kV–400kV transmission infrastructure projects.
* Experience working with regional utilities or transmission operators is strongly preferred.
* Strong understanding of IEC, IEEE, and international transmission standards.
* Experience supporting engineering consultancy or design projects.
* Technical

Skills:

* Proficiency in PLS-CADD, SAG
10, CYMCAP, or similar transmission design tools.
* Knowledge of transmission line structural behaviour and cable system design.
* Ability to prepare technical reports, design documentation, and engineering calculations.
* Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
