Wood is recruiting for a Senior Concept Engineer to join our team in Oman to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work.

Reflecting The Market Focus For The Office In Both Brownfield And Green Field Opportunities. Multi-skilled personnel, with experience in Onshore Oil and Gas, are sought.
- Execute activities and processes associated with Business Development for feasibility, concept and pre-FEED studies that include Liquid Hydrogen, Fertilizers, Midstream and Petrochemical opportunities within the Business Development scope.
- Apply and expand hands-on experience in Technical and Commercial development of these projects and industries in Oman.
- Evaluate and select options, define and frame strategies, design basis, and energy and utility infrastructure via a compelling business case.
- Demonstrate creative engineering and commercial skills, conceptual and strategic thinking, project and stakeholder management with strong leadership capacities.
- Apply knowledge in cost and opex estimating, technologies and processing including cryogenic operations, liquification, storage and handling of feedstock and products, transportation.
- Oversee the development of opportunities in Oman.
- Develop and integrate production, storage, transportation, loading and unloading systems as part of concept options.
- Assess project logistics requirements and recommend efficient and cost-effective options.
- Work with suppliers to identify efficient and cost-effective components for liquid hydrogen systems.
- Design identified and selected concept options and evaluate equipment and processes to optimize performance and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
- Develop operating, measurement and control philosophies for integrated facilities, coordinating with stakeholders and future plans.
- Manage commitments and timelines and provide presentations and strategies to the leadership team.
- Engage in energy conservation project development and related studies.
- Conduct site inspections, visits and meetings with stakeholders in Oman.
- Engage with suppliers of feedstock and utilities to secure competitive supply for the project.
- Engage with land and port authorities to secure land and utilities.
- Engage with commercial and legal advisors to manage project and supply chain risks.
- Develop Capex (Class V and IV) and Opex cost estimates.
- Develop scope for FEED study, market analysis, and Class IV cost estimate to prepare FEED packages.
- Work with technology licensors to create ITTs for technical and commercial proposals.
- Pre-qualify vendors and evaluate bidders’ proposals technically, commercially and contractually.
- Participate in Value Engineering and risk assessment activities to identify optimization opportunities and mitigation plans.
- Align project plan and deliverables with co-developers and engage selected consultants and vendors for engineering study.
- Monitor progress and quality of deliverables and support bankable commercial structures; work with treasury for bank and ECA funding.
- Prepare documentation and provide support in Peer Reviews and for Investment Committee, Board approvals as needed.
- BSc or Engineering degree.
- Membership of a recognized professional institute preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years experience in the oil and gas downstream industry.
- Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
