The Shop Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, equipment, and machinery to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role performs mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs, maintains service records, and supports overall shop organization and workflow. The Shop Mechanic collaborates with team members and leadership to ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with company quality standards.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of company vehicles, equipment, and machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues and determine proper repair methods.
- Replace and repair components including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and related parts.
- Conduct road or function tests to verify that repair work meets performance and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, services performed, and parts used.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations and safe work practices.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean and organized shop environment.
- Communicate repair status, maintenance needs, and service timelines with supervisors and team members.
- Assist with general facility, grounds, and shop maintenance to support safe, clean, and efficient operations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanic in automotive, restoration, or heavy equipment repair.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repair skills.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools, software, and testing equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and repair instructions.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record required.
This role involves regular physical activity. You must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs and perform work that requires standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and climbing for extended periods, both indoors and out. The position also requires frequent use of hands, wrists, and arms to handle, grip, grasp, and operate tools, equipment, and mechanical components, while safely working around mechanical equipment, moving parts, and varying temperatures in required PPE.
These physical tasks are essential for performing this job safely and effectively.
- Hourly Range: $25.00 - $34.00 (DOE)

Monday - Friday 7am to 4pm - Tools Provided
