Shop Technician
Department: Operations
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Murrieta, CA
Reporting To: Operations Manager
DescriptionAssists in maintaining workflow by providing and sustaining effective maintenance, organization, and cleanliness of assigned workshop.
Key Responsibilities- Completing day-to-day tasks that keep the warehouse running safely and efficiently.
- Perform technical tasks that include equipment and machinery management, assessment, repair, and maintenance.
- Coordinates and schedules the movement of products throughout the warehouse including storage and shipment of finished products.
- Maintain the shop environment by maintaining cleanliness, safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain and assist in cleaning company fleet vehicles; inside and out.
- Manages shop inventory and keeps direct supervisor informed of any product needs.
- Clean and maintain store, warehouse, and outside areas keeping them in a neat, and orderly condition.
- Inspect and repair tools and tool room equipment.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or dollies.
- Setting up equipment and taking equipment apart.
- Follow established procedures when working on projects or tasks.
- Documents all related activities and completes forms and reports as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Proficient oral and written communication
- Ability to maintain internal and external effective and harmonious working relationships
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must have good knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Read a tape measure with proficiency.
- Ability to function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to climb a minimum 30‑foot ladder.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Knowledge and application of OSHA safety regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Have held a valid US driver's license for 5+
- Self‑motivated with a results‑driven approach
Mental Demands/ Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors
- Tools/Equipment Used:
Basic hand tools including but not limited to hammer, wrench, power saw, nail gun, and sander. - Posture:
Prolonged standing and/or bending; occasional stooping, pushing/pulling, carrying, climbing, and twisting - Motion:
Repetitive hand motions, pushing/pulling, carrying, reaching, and twisting - Lifting:
Ability to carry up to 75 lbs. repetitively. - Environment:
Possible district wide travel with potential exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, noise, vibration, and chemical and electrical hazards - Mental Demands:
Work with frequent interruptions, sudden shifting priorities, and ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
