Job Description
Join us as the Founding Growth Product Manager (PM), responsible for building and leading our inaugural growth squad. Your core mandate is establishing the complete growth operating system—including people, processes, cadences, and tooling—to deliver measurable outcomes across the entire funnel: acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and monetization. This role requires a blend of strong leadership, operational excellence, deep product intuition, sharp analytics, and relentless curiosity.
You must establish the standards and guardrails necessary to ensure high-velocity shipping while maintaining exceptional quality.
- Stand up the first growth squad: define charter, working model, roles, and interfaces with Product, Engineering (Eng), Design, Data, Marketing, and Sales/Success teams.
- Lead the cross-functional squad, setting clear strategy, goals, success metrics, and decision frameworks to create clarity and momentum.
- Coach for autonomy and accountability; model crisp written communication, disciplined prioritization, and a bias for action.
- Drive Go-To-Market (GTM) alignment on PQL/MQL definitions, handoffs, and lifecycle triggers to reduce time-to-value and improve win rates.
- Collaborate closely with Eng/Design to scope right‑sized solutions, sequence dependencies, and ensure quality delivery.
- Establish the growth operating cadence, including weekly planning, experiment review, decision logs, and post‑mortems.
- Define intake, triage, scoping, and shipping workflows with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality gates.
- Create rigorous experimentation standards: hypothesis format, sample sizing, guardrails, data contracts, and documentation.
- Maintain web hygiene: ensure consistent environments, versioned tags, sane feature flags, and error/latency budgets to protect speed and quality.
- Own the quarterly growth thesis and roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals; communicate trade‑offs and expected impact clearly.
- Design and optimize compounding growth loops (referrals, collaboration, content/SEO) and lifecycle programs (email, push, in‑app, SMS) to boost engagement and retention.
- Size opportunities using funnel diagnostics, cohort/retention analysis, and user research; translate findings into Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) with success criteria.
- Report results and insights with a clear narrative that drives strategic decisions and future bets.
- Be hands‑on with data to prioritize effectively, make calculated bets, and drive astute decisions.
- Partner with data science/engineering to maintain trustworthy events, schemas, dashboards, and automated experiment reads.
- Build executive‑level views for KPI health (sign‑up, activation, retention, revenue), funnel breakouts, and attribution.
- 6–8 years of experience in Product or Growth roles with a proven track record of improving acquisition, activation, retention, or revenue metrics.
- Proven ability to build growth operations from scratch: establishing ceremonies, processes, dashboards, and tooling that scale a growth program.
- Deep understanding of proven test and learn practices, balancing precision with speed to achieve practical business outcomes.
- Ability to balance speed and quality, and to connect smaller efforts to larger roadmaps and goals.
- Demonstrated leadership of cross‑functional teams; excellent stakeholder management and crisp communication skills.
- Highly organized: rigorous prioritization, clean documentation, and reliable follow‑through.
- Curiosity as a superpower: ability to form hypotheses, dive into data, talk to users, and iterate quickly.
- AI‑first mentality:
Proficiency with AI and understanding where it can be leveraged to increase speed and quality. - Reforge training and certification is a strong plus.
Skills:
- Google Analytics (GA4) and Power BI: advanced proficiency required.
- Salesforce: Proficiency required.
- SQL and experimentation tooling experience.
- HTML/CSS required; PHP (strong plus; may be required for select workflows).
- Deep operational internet & web proficiency: understanding how the web works end‑to‑end (HTTP, cookies, caching/CDNs, DNS, SSL/TLS), site performance, accessibility, and SEO basics—and how these impact growth metrics.
- Experience in B2B SaaS and product‑led growth (PLG); familiarity with CRM/marketing automation (e.g., Salesforce/Marketo).
- Technical background or strong technical empathy; comfort with data modeling and analytics instrumentation.
