Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital
, Murrieta, California — a 120‑bed acute‑care hospital with the region's only Pediatric Emergency Services team for children 14 and under, provided by board‑certified Rady Children’s emergency medicine physicians. Rancho Springs also provides the area's only OB/ER program with 24/7 on‑site OB/GYN coverage, a large childbirth center, and a NICU operated by Rady Children’s.
Manager of Patient Access Services is responsible for supervising and overseeing all registration duties to ensure accuracy of patient information, demographics, insurance data, and compliance with prior authorization requirements. Monitors appropriate reports in accordance with pre‑registration and scheduling processes to ensure timely scheduling, pre‑registration, and insurance verification. Participates in cross‑training employees to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, and versatility of the Patient Access Services Department.
Works directly with ancillary departments to improve process flow between PAS and other hospital areas.
- Customer Service/Guest Relations – coordinating and integrating inter‑departmental services, documenting all responses, and consistently identifying ways to improve service and reduce complaints.
- Participation – active member of Performance Improvement teams that contribute to organization planning and operations.
- Policy Development – develop and implement PAS policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory and hospital‑wide policies.
- Flexibility/Adaptability – display positive traits and adaptability needed for a successful manager; work collaboratively as a team player.
- Initiative – take responsibility for creating innovative programs and continuously strive to improve department services and organizational performance.
- Quality – ensure services are delivered effectively and efficiently, providing high‑quality care to all patients.
This position is full time, onsite, and oversees both facilities.
QualificationsMinimum Essential
Experience:
- Minimum of five years experience in admitting and hospital billing/collections.
- 2‑4 years in a supervisory or management role in a hospital setting.
Minimum Essential
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, preferred.
Required Licensure /
Certifications:
- CPAM, CPAT, or applicable designation preferred.
Essential Knowledge /
Skills:
- Admitting experience with expertise in rules and regulations related to admitting; medical terminology, in‑depth knowledge of third‑party rules and regulations related to admission, billing and collections of account receivables.
- Ability to develop strategic plans, budgets, goals, and policies and procedures.
- Computer proficiency with PC applications, typing, office machines, organizational and communication skills.
