We’re seeking a dedicated Associate Nurse Unit Manager to support and guide nursing/midwifery teams across diverse healthcare settings, helping deliver consistent, high-quality care.
About the RoleAs an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will build on your clinical experience and take accountability for your own practice while mentoring less experienced staff. You will provide vital support to the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent by helping lead the nursing/midwifery team in the ward, unit, or service. Your responsibilities will include managing a portfolio that promotes continuity and consistency of care, assisting in implementing practice improvements, and contributing to ward or unit management activities such as performance reviews, recruitment, staffing, rostering, and resource planning.
WhatWe’re Looking For
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practising certificate.
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
- Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and Direct Care Attendants.
