Development Associate
Donor Connect is seeking a full-time Development Associate. The Development Associate plays a key role in supporting Donor Connect Foundation's fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This position works closely with the development team to manage donor data, support stewardship initiatives, assist with fundraising events, and represent the Foundation at community and networking events. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, relationship-focused, and energized by building something meaningful from the ground up.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Training/
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Experience
Required:
- Minimum of two years' experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, advancement, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of experience with donor databases or CRMs (Virtuous)
- Experience assisting with fundraising events, such as galas, community events, or donor cultivation activities, including pre‑event preparation and post‑event follow‑up
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising principles, donor stewardship, and relationship‑based philanthropy
- Familiarity with donor lifecycle management, including acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies
- Working knowledge of donor CRM systems and development operations, including gift processing, reporting, and data management best practices
- Understanding of fundraising events, sponsorship structures, and community engagement activities
- Awareness of confidentiality, ethical standards, and data integrity practices related to donor information
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including donor correspondence and internal collaboration
- Proficiency in using CRM systems, databases, and standard office technology (e.g., Microsoft windows)
- Attention to detail and accuracy, particularly related to data entry, reporting, and donor communications
- Interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to engage donors, sponsors, and community partners professionally and warmly
- Event coordination and logistical support skills, including planning, tracking, and follow‑up
- Problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving processes in a growing organization
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams while also functioning independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to represent Donor Connect Foundation positively and professionally at community and networking events
- Ability to learn new systems, processes, and fundraising strategies quickly
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and remain flexible in a fast‑paced, start‑up foundation environment
- Ability to support evening or weekend events as needed
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to move up to 10 pounds at times with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
