Position Summary

The HR Generalist is responsible for administering and supporting core human resources functions with a primary focus on Workers’ Compensation, employee leave programs, and HRIS administration for Sizzling Platter. This role plays a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate data management, and a positive employee experience across the organization.

The ideal candidate brings strong working knowledge of employment regulations related to workplace injuries and leaves of absence, hands‑on experience with HRIS systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to partner effectively with employees, managers, and external vendors in a fast‑paced, multi‑unit environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer workers’ compensation claims from initial incident reporting through resolution, including coordination with carriers, TPAs, medical providers, employees, and managers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding workplace injuries, claims processes, and return‑to‑work requirements.
  • Track and report on workers’ compensation claims, trends, and costs; support risk mitigation and injury prevention initiatives.
  • Partner with the HR Manager to support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of company safety programs, policies, and training.
  • Assist with safety training coordination, documentation, incident reporting, and corrective action follow‑up.
  • Administer employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, state and local paid leave programs, ADA accommodations, military leave, and company‑sponsored leaves.
  • Ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and communication related to leave eligibility, approvals, and return‑to‑work status.
  • Maintain and audit employee data in the HRIS, including job changes, leave status, workers’ compensation coding, and compliance records.
  • Run standard and ad hoc HR reports related to workers’ compensation, safety metrics, leaves, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Operations, Payroll, Benefits, Legal) to support accurate and compliant HR administration.
  • Support audits, recordkeeping, and ongoing improvements to HR and safety processes and documentation.
Job Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Strong working knowledge of workers’ compensation, OSHA principles, FMLA, ADA, and multi‑state leave regulations.
  • Experience supporting workplace safety programs and injury prevention initiatives.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and strong attention to data accuracy and compliance.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with employees, managers, and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership and operations teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SHRM‑CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • 1–3 years of progressive HR experience, with an emphasis on compliance, HR administration, and HR systems.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including those related to workers’ compensation and leaves of absence.
