Mammography Technologist – Job Summary
The Mammography Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic mammography procedures for the detection of breast abnormalities. This role works independently with minimal supervision and requires strong technical skills and sound clinical judgment.
Key Responsibilities- Verify patient identification and exam orders; prepare patients for procedures
- Perform mammography exams per protocol, including advanced procedures (stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, drainages)
- Operate mammography equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Ensure radiation safety in compliance with ALARA standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and records per JCAHO and Utah State regulations
- Stay current with evolving mammography procedures and equipment
