The Staff Accountant plays a key role in ensuring accurate payroll accounting and compliance across multi-brand, multi-state operations. This position partners closely with HR and Finance teams to support payroll-related journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting in a high-volume environment.

• Prepare and reconcile payroll and benefit-related balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare bi-weekly payroll journal entries and support timely period-end close.
• Partner with HR to ensure accurate accounting of employee benefits.
• Assist with payroll processing and compliance across multiple states.
• Support internal and external payroll-related audits.
• Communicate effectively across departments and leadership levels.
• Complete additional projects and assignments as requested.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, with focus in payroll or general ledger.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (Net Suite a plus).
• Familiarity with ADP payroll systems preferred.
• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to work independently.

• Experience in restaurant, hospitality, or retail industries.
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance.
