North American Management is seeking an assistant controller to oversee day‑to‑day and month‑end accounting workflows for NAM’s clients. This role is ideal for a strong accounting professional who is ready to take ownership of key processes and support a small accounting team.
The assistant controller will oversee accounts payable, payroll imports, cash flow preparation, bank and general ledger reviews, job cost reporting, month‑end reconciliations, billing reviews, and sales tax filings. This role provides both leadership responsibilities and hands‑on involvement in accounting tasks, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys a balanced workload.
The assistant controller will work closely with the controller and provide daily support and guidance to all team members, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial activity across multiple clients.
The ideal candidate to apply for this position:- Has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including construction or project‑based accounting, public accounting experience a plus.
- Has strong experience with job cost reporting, reconciliations, and month‑end activities
- Enjoys reviewing work, coaching team members, and helping maintain accurate accounting processes
- Communicates clearly and professionally with clients, vendors, and project teams
- Is highly organized and able to manage multiple client deadlines
- Brings a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred; equivalent experience considered)
- Is willing to work in the office full‑time (Murray, UT)
