Job Summary
Murray State University seeks an innovative Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs to serve as the university’s chief academic officer and partner with President Ron Patterson in advancing academic excellence and student success.
- Provide vision and leadership for all areas of Academic Affairs, including six colleges, the School of Nursing & Health Professions, the School of Agriculture, libraries, research centers, and academic support units.
- Guide program development, accreditation, and resource alignment.
- Lead faculty recruitment, development, and student success initiatives.
- Oversee academic budgets, accreditation processes, and compliance.
- Partner with deans to launch new professional programs (e.g., dental hygiene, veterinary medicine).
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative academic culture.
A terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or appropriate terminal degree) from an accredited institution.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements- A scholarly record (peer‑reviewed publications/creative activity) commensurate with appointment at the rank of full professor with tenure in an academic department.
- Proven record of at least five years of academic administrative leadership with oversight of program development, accreditation, and budget management.
- Strong financial and resource stewardship skills.
- Demonstrated success in faculty and student success initiatives.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications
Direct experience with professional program accreditation and managing complex academic portfolios.
