About this role:

As an Academic Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician, you will serve within an expanding medical/surgical ICU, and pulmonary care program. You will function as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team supporting advanced therapies for complex, critically ill patients.

We are seeking an experienced Pulmonary and Critical Care Intensivist to practice at Intermountain Medical Center, the premier academic medical center and flagship qua ternary hospital for Intermountain Health. This state-of-the-art facility houses 96 ICU beds across four specialized ICUs and is actively expanding.

In this role, you can expect:

  • Practice location at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah
  • A balanced academic role including pulmonary clinic, pulmonary consults, ICU coverage, and protected research time
  • 0.3 FTE Pulmonary Clinical Commitment:
    Standard outpatient clinic hours with dedicated pulmonary function test (PFT) and cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) interpretation time ( 548 hours annually)
  • 0.4 FTE ICU Commitment:
    Including 1-2 rotating night shifts per month, covering days, nights, weekends, and holidays (730 hours annually)
  • 0.3 FTE Protected Research Time:
    With the opportunity to expand research effort in alignment with NIH-funded salary support (624 hours annually)
  • Potential for medical education and teaching opportunities

The ideal candidate will bring strong pulmonary and critical care experience with demonstrated success in pulmonary research. They will also bring experience in PFT and CPET interpretation, and an area of pulmonary subspecialty interest (ideally in airways disease).

This position includes a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, training stipend and student loan repayment when applicable.

What you'll bring:

  • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
  • Residency training in Internal Medicine
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health's credentialing process
  • We are not able to accept candidates requiring Visa sponsorship at this time
