Your Contribution
As a Manager of Logistics reporting to the Plant Manager - Murfreesboro, you will be a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, serving as a true business partner to the Plant Manager. The overall objective is to develop short-term and long-term strategic plans for this function to drive continuous improvement through improved efficiency, cost reduction and/or improved service delivery while achieving all elements of our customer scorecards.
This role is responsible to:
- Lead Direct Reports in Murfreesboro including Customer Service, Production & Material Planning, Shipping & Receiving and Inventory Support.

- Strategy
- Develop the vision and roadmap to support the long-term strategy and future growth of the organization while managing the day to day operations of the logistics.
- Build a sustainable, lean operation capable of not only supporting the company’s tremendous projected growth but also driving it.
- KPI Achievement & Relationship Management
- Plan, manage, and coordinate all facets of the logistics operation to ensure outstanding supplier relationships while achieving or exceeding all elements of our customer scorecard and plant KPIs.
- Work collaboratively and foster strong relationships across the organization at all levels. Infuse customer centric mindset into the organization with a bias towards action and improving the customer experience.
- Work with vendors to develop a robust supply chain.
- Develop logistics agreements: pack size, order quantity, ship frequencies, routings.
- Ensure our supplier rating system is maintained (customer, vendor and freight deliveries).
- Review customer delivery performance issues and ensure development and close out of corrective actions.
- Manage EDI requirements.
- Support escalated customer service issues.
- Material Planning & Material Flow
- Manage the procurement of mass production raw material while balancing physical inventory and preventing line shutdown.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and implement best practices related to forecasting and supply inventory control.
- Facilitate continuous improvement of material flow and material management within manufacturing facility and supply chain.
- Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Manage warehouse operations including stock management related to shipping, cycle counts, efficiency, accuracy & stock return.
- SAP input/management:
Oversee all receipts for incoming raw materials; oversee all transfers from inventory managed to warehouse managed. - Manage scheduling and loading/unloading of all incoming/outgoing containers.
- Coordinate and implement consignment materials, future inventory, and warehousing concepts.
- Track and report inventory issues and coordinate resolution.
- Manage physical inventories for each BU annually; research and implement best in class inventory practices.
- Benchmark and implement world class material flow/warehouse concepts and strategies (Lean Logistics principles – Logistics Excellence).
- Miscellaneous
- Establish, report, and review team measurables.
- Establish and track departmental budgets (expenses, inventory and transportation).
Your Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline, from a four-year college or university.
