Laundry Aide

Hourly Pay Range: $13.09 - $18.39.

Full-time Day Shift 5:30 am to 2:00 pm opening.

We are currently looking for a Laundry Aide for our full-time Day Shift opening at Tennessee State Veterans' Homes, consistently ranked among the top nursing homes in the nation.

Previous laundry/housekeeping/cleaning aide experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred. Individuals must be able to work independently and reschedule cleaning activities to meet the needs of residents or nursing staff. Individuals must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with residents, families, visitors and co-workers. Must be able to read and understand Standard English and be able to work with standard cleaning chemicals.

• Sort and separate laundry items according to color, fabric type, and care instructions
• Operate and maintain laundry equipment, such as washing machines and dryers
• Load and unload laundry machines, ensuring proper weights and settings are used
• Use appropriate cleaning agents and laundry products to remove stains and odors
• Check and treat items for stains and damages before laundering
• Inspect and fold cleaned laundry items, ensuring they are properly sorted and stored
• Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and inform the supervisor when additional supplies are needed
• Assist with the delivery of clean laundry to the appropriate areas or individuals
• Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the laundry area
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and excellent service

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
