Occupational Therapist - PRN
TrustPoint Hospital (Murfreesboro Rehabilitation Hospital) is hiring an Occupational Therapist – PRN to join a fast‑paced, dedicated, innovative team.
We specialize in neuro and ortho, treating patients with injury, illness, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, stroke, and other disabilities. The role involves improving patients’ quality of life through therapeutic activities.
Essential Functions- Help patients develop, recover, and improve skills for daily living and working.
- Review patient medical history, ask questions and observe patient performance to evaluate condition and needs.
- Develop a treatment plan, identify specific goals and activities to help patients work toward those goals.
- Assist patients with various disabilities, demonstrate exercises, evaluate home or workplace, and recommend improvements.
- Educate patients’ family and employers on accommodation and care, recommend equipment, and instruct on its use.
- Assess and record patient activities and progress for evaluations, billing, and reporting to physicians and other health providers.
- Work with children in educational settings, evaluate abilities, adapt classroom equipment, and facilitate participation.
- Assist patients with developmental disabilities, mental illness, emotional problems, substance use, depression, or other disorders as needed.
- Teach time management, budgeting, public transportation use, and household chores for daily life engagement.
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, professional attitude toward patients; address and resolve complaints. Prioritize patient safety.
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Therapy (required).
- One or more years’ experience working with the population served by the facility (required).
- Current active professional license or eligibility for endorsement in the state of service.
- CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certification required – training provided upon hire.
- First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
