Position: Facility Attendant Lead - Tech Booth & Movies Under the Stars

This position is considered a Safety-Sensitive position. Applicants who pass the interview process will be subject to drug and alcohol testing.

General Description

We are looking for a reliable and skilled employee to support our Movies Under the Stars event series held throughout Murfreesboro and programming at the Washington Theatre located inside Patterson Park Community Center. This individual will be responsible for setting up and operating live sound and lighting equipment at various locations, ensuring smooth event execution, and providing excellent customer service to attendees.

Functions
  • Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business.
  • Greets customers/users as they enter the park or facility and assist them with their needs. Provide accurate information regarding activities and department information.
  • Oversees and monitors the assigned facility to ensure a positive experience.
  • Observes and enforces the rules and regulations of their assigned area for the safety and welfare of the staff and participants. Listens and responds to participant complaints.
  • Oversees facility maintenance and cleanliness. Keeps the assigned area clean, neat, and orderly.
  • Performs general repair and maintenance on the facility or coordinates with contractors.
  • Operates a computer with facility management software; processes daily admission, balances cash drawer; prepares bank deposits, collects funds, issues receipts, and records transactions.
  • Receives and records reservations; maintains and monitors schedules and calendars.
  • Maintains accurate records as assigned, which may include inventory, registrations, incident reports, and similar.
  • Opens and closes the facility as needed; ensures that the building is secure and that all participants have left before closing the facility.
  • Manages staff; provides guidance and instruction.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with some weekend, evening, and holiday work required.
  • Performs other work as assigned.
Supplemental Information
  • Operate and troubleshoot sound and light boards for live events.
  • Set up and break down audio/visual and technical equipment on-site.
  • Drive to and from event locations.
  • Manage crowd flow and respond calmly to on-site situations.
  • Make sound judgment calls in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Work independently and take initiative without direct supervision.
  • Handle live sound adjustments and quality control during events.
  • Interact with the public in a courteous, professional, and approachable manner.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
Qualifications
  • Experience with live sound mixing and light board operation.
  • Ability to lift and move audio/visual equipment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Calm under pressure and quick to assess situations.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekend.
Physical Demands
  • Performs light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and exerting up to 20 pounds (50 pounds for the Airport department) of force regularly.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Must be a minimum of sixteen (16) years of age. High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. Three (3) months experience as a facility attendant, customer service representative, or closely related experience is required.
Special Certifications and Licenses
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must possess current (not expired) CPR/AED certifications or the ability to acquire same within three (3) months from the date of hire.
