Job Summary
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro is accepting applications for a Vice President of Instruction and Accreditation. This position is fully onsite and will report directly to the President. This position will serve as the chief academic officer for the college, directing academic program development and implementation. This role will oversee faculty growth and development while administering the policies and procedures that apply to academic programs and accrediting bodies.
The position will comply with T and COE accreditation standards as well as federal guidelines.
Job Duties /Responsibilities
* Support the College President in the continuous review, revision, implementation and monitoring of instructional and accreditation goals and objectives, while developing and making recommendations to the College President.
* Provide leadership and vision in all academic functions including but not limited to planning, budgeting, instruction, curricula, policy and program development.
* Provide leadership for the training and motivation of assigned faculty and staff in order to make full use of individual capabilities and to meet college growth and demands.
* Serve as the accreditation liaison to the college's accreditation agency and provide leadership in maintaining program accreditation and gaining/maintaining appropriate program-specific accreditation.
* Responsible for adherence to accreditation standards and submission of all required paperwork to accreditation agency.
* Direct the selection, supervision, development, and evaluation of faculty and programs by establishing and modeling performance expectations and standards; conducting formal classroom observations with main campus instructors; planning and facilitating faculty meetings; evaluating usage of advisory committees; and disseminating the results of formal and informal staff and student evaluation of services provided-culminating in annual performance evaluations of faculty and evaluations of programs.
* Keep abreast of new developments in curriculum, distance learning, evaluation, and professional development through readings, conferences, and other means of gathering training and knowledge and disseminate this information to appropriate members of the administrative, instructional, and support staff on a regular basis, including conducting and/or arranging faculty orientations and professional development.
* Pursue articulation agreements and defined career pathways in each program area through involvement with TCAT-Murfreesboro faculty, other higher education institutions, and secondary school districts.
* Facilitate effective College representation on various State or regional industry/program specific advisory boards or coordinating committees, as needed.
* Oversee and facilitate Occupational Advisory Committees for each program and assist in maintaining industry connections for current and planned program areas.
* Develop and implement course/program approval and implementation processes for all current and new programs; and manage the evaluation and continuous improvement promoting course offerings that remain industry current and provide high-quality learning experiences that offer career opportunities for graduates.
* Develop, implement and monitor academic operations and practices that will promote growth through improved and expanded course offerings and the addition of viable new programs.
* Coordinate and collaborate with senior staff members to review, develop and maintain the college's strategic plan and other initiatives to advance the college.
* Other responsibilities as assigned by the President.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
* Minimum of three years of full-time administrative experience in higher education.
* Must have demonstrated leadership success in an educational setting.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Must understand campus, state, federal policies and laws, and have experience with a student information system and accreditation requirements in any program.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff, the general public, multiple local businesses, employers, industry, workforce development agencies, secondary and post-secondary institutions.
* Initiative and cooperation, i.e., to plan and organize work without close supervision; show good judgment and perseverance; have the ability and possess a desire to interact positively with faculty, staff, and students.
