JOB SUMMARY
The Junior Analyst provides analytical support to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FPA) team, primarily helping the Bank manage its balance sheet, interest rate risk, and liquidity, along with forecasting and regular financial reporting. This role combines data analysis, financial modeling, market research, and presentation support to inform strategic decision-making, with a focus on understanding interest rate movements and their impact on the Bank's portfolios.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in analyzing the Bank's balance sheet, loan, and deposit trends.
- Assist in preparing monthly/quarterly Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) & budget materials
- Support financial modeling and scenario analysis to assess interest rate and liquidity impacts.
- Prepare and maintain reports on cash flows, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Collect, organize, and validate data to support the Bank's Asset Liability Model (ALM) and liquidity initiatives.
- Assist with regular monthly and quarterly financial presentation materials for board and executive management reporting
- Assist in the creation of other presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior analysts and the CFO on internal projects, including NII analysis, budgeting, and model validation.
- Contribute to process improvements and help maintain accurate documentation of assumptions and methodologies.
- Monitor market interest rate trends and provide insights on potential effects on the bank's portfolios.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or any relevant STEM field or compensating work experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with financial modeling, databases, or analytical tools is a plus.
- Basic understanding of interest rate movements, market dynamics, and banking products.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- 1-2 years of previous internships or experience in financial services with a quantitative focus, coursework, projects and case studies can be considered.
- Exposure to balance sheet analysis, loan/deposit forecasting, or liquidity reporting.
- Familiarity with financial software or modeling platforms.
