Material Handler
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels by conducting regular counts, tracking inventory discrepancies, and supporting overall inventory management efforts. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient warehouse operations and optimizing inventory accuracy at Kilcoy Global Foods North America.
Role and Responsibilities- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and identify root causes, documenting and reporting variances to management.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Assist in receiving and shipping processes by verifying quantities and ensuring correct data entry.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and logistics, to resolve inventory issues.
- Conduct physical inventory audits and provide reports on stock levels, shrinkage, and inventory trends.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory materials to facilitate efficient access and count processes.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the warehouse area by adhering to company policies and safety standards.
- Assist with warehouse and production operations as needed, supporting an accurate and efficient supply chain.
- Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance inventory control systems.
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, or logistics preferred.
- Basic proficiency with inventory management systems or warehouse management software (WMS).
- Strong math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks in a warehouse environment.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and thoroughness when handling inventory counts and records.
- Problem-Solving: Skilled at investigating discrepancies and identifying root causes of variances.
- Collaboration: Ability to work with various departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Time Management: Effective in prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Adaptability: Able to thrive in a dynamic environment and adjust to changes in inventory control processes.
Physical Requirements
The work environment alternates between a cold production setting with concrete floors and an office. This position requires the team member to:
- Sit for an extended period of time at a computer.
- Stand and walk through the production floor and endure cold temperatures (38 degrees).
- Must occasionally lift/move up to 40 lbs.
