Overview

The Cook is responsible for the preparation of food orders, preparation of condiments, and maintaining a clean operational kitchen environment. Assist with food inventory and menu planning.

Education, Experience and Training
Minimum 18 years old. High School Diploma or Equivalent. Basic knowledge of food preparation, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. Previous experience as a cook is preferred. CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification is required or must become certified. Must obtain Illinois Food Handler Certificate within 2 weeks of hire date.

• Maintain safe and sanitary food-handling practices in compliance with all requirements of the Lake County Health Department.
• Prepare all items listed on the menu per kitchen guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.
• Assist in ordering, receiving, and controlling inventory.
• Inspect the kitchen and grillroom regularly to ensure safe, sanitary, and attractive conditions and practices are in place.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
