Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Product Manager – Lathes, Live & Static Tooling is to provide strategic leadership and oversight for the entire product line related to lathes and tooling solutions, ensuring its success across design, development, pricing, promotion, distribution, and lifecycle management. This role reports directly to the Vice President and is accountable for aligning the product strategy with company objectives while driving growth and market success within the lathe and tooling sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Product Lifecycle Management - Oversee all stages of the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch and post-launch optimization, specifically for lathes, live tooling, and static tooling products. Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and operations teams to ensure product timelines and quality standards are met for all tooling solutions.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management - Cultivate and manage strong relationships with vendors, ensuring alignment on product specifications, timelines, and cost structures. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of supplier capabilities to ensure product performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis - Lead market research efforts to define customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscapes. Analyze pricing strategies, customer feedback, and competitor offerings to recommend product enhancements and new features.
  • Marketing & Sales Support - Assist in creating and enhancing marketing materials (e.g., brochures, websites, catalogs) and work cross-functionally with marketing and sales teams to drive product launches and promote new tooling solutions. Provide product knowledge and sales training for internal teams and partners to ensure clear, effective communication regarding the product lines.
  • Inventory and Demand Planning - Collaborate with sales and operations teams to forecast demand, optimize inventory, and ensure product availability at all times.
  • Continuous Innovation and Customer Focus - Regularly monitor product performance and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation, particularly around tooling efficiency and performance. Support the sales team in strategic product opportunities and ensure a customer-centric approach to decision-making.
Required Knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of lathe machinery, live tooling, static tooling, and machining processes is essential.
  • A strong understanding of the competitive landscape and customer needs within the lathe and tooling market is required.
Required Abilities
  • Must be able to develop and execute both short-term and long-term product roadmaps aligned with company strategy and market needs for tooling products.
  • Strong financial acumen for budgeting, cost control, and profitability analysis.
Required Experience and Training

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of product management or marketing experience, ideally within machine tools, lathes, and tooling solutions. Additional experience in cross-functional team leadership, strategic planning, and vendor management is highly preferred.
