job responsibilities- apply daily customer payments accurately using lockbox, ach, wire, and check payments, ensuring timely posting to customer accounts
- research and resolve unapplied cash and payment discrepancies to maintain clean ar aging
- manage full‑cycle collections for assigned accounts, including proactive outreach via phone and email to secure timely payment
- analyze aging reports to identify past‑due balances, payment trends, and high‑risk accounts
- investigate, track, and resolve customer deductions, short pays, chargebacks, and credits in coordination with sales, customer service, and pricing teams
- prepare and maintain detailed documentation to support deduction resolution and dispute management
- reconcile customer accounts, statements, and payment history to ensure accuracy
- place accounts on credit hold when necessary and assist with release upon resolution
- maintain compliance with company credit policies and internal controls
- generate ar reports and metrics for management using excel and erp systems (sap, oracle, netsuite, or similar)
- 3–5 years of experience in an accounts receivable specialist role
- strong understanding of cash applications, deductions, and collections
- excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
- strong knowledge of microsoft excel and other microsoft office applications
