Job Purpose

The purpose of the position is to work with the production team to facilitate the supplier cost recovery process and supervisor supplier quality inspectors

Duties and Responsibilities

* Collaborate with multiple teams to develop and implement SCR process to completion on thousands of documents step-by-step;

* Supervisor documentation of all issues with detailed attachments and initiate NCM process

* Able to work well with production and others team members consistently, accurately, and safely.

* Conduct product audits/inspections on major subassemblies and final products to see if the unit meets specifications and needs of fitness for use;

Advanced duties and responsibilities

* Specific knowledge in core manufacturing process: areas: welding, mechanical, electrical, paint;

* Experience in purchasing and negotiation; experience in quality and nonconformances;

* Strong communication skills, both written and oral; ability to listen and communicate at all levels and departments of the organization;

Preferred Skills

* Collaborate and interact effectively with a variety of other team members - assemblers, engineers, managers;

* Problem-solving abilities; identifying process problems and non-conformances.

Essential and Physical Activities Functions

* Strength - Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs, push and pull up to 75lb;

* Motion - Constant walking; frequent and sustained bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, squatting, overhead reaching and climbing ladders;

* Vision/Hearing Requirements - Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and hear audible alarms;

* Work Environment - Works on varied surfaces, concrete floors, and gravel, rail car and locomotive floors. Works at varied heights from floor level to tops of locomotives. Work in confined spaces. Non-temperature control environment, all weather conditions with high noise and high dust levels;

* Emotional Demands - Due to the working environment, noise, dust, personal protective equipment, employee must be comfortable working alone;

* Safety - Safety Sensitive positions because it works in and around active tracks, rail cars, locomotives, and other moving equipment. Employee must abide by all safety protocols, health/medical screenings and utilize all required PPE.

Qualifications and Experience

* Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications;

* Model specific courses/classes/training based on shop customer requirements;

* Experience with quality systems such as ETQ;

* Experience with ERP systems such as SAP & LN;

* Accurately complete basic math skills;

* Advanced proficiency with computer skills (Outlook, data entry, Microsoft Office).

* Ability to handle multiple tasks and be a flexible team player; ability to switch gears when something is needed immediately and return to follow up on other projects.
