Overview
Maintenance Technician needed for Element Resources in Muncie. One of Muncie's long-standing companies is hiring. Element is a leading battery recycling facility and has been a mainstay in the Muncie community for over 30 years. Batteries are among the most recycled products in the world, with a high recycling rate. Element provides recycled products to America's battery manufacturers to produce high quality batteries powering cars, trucks, and forklifts to support the supply chain.
OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various systems within our facility, including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, water lines, burner systems, air compressors, and hydraulic systems.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, flue pipes, water lines, burner systems, air compressors, and hydraulic systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair all piping in the facility.
- Install, maintain, and repair valves, hoses, fittings, bearings, gauges, and meters in the facility.
- Weld and repair carbon and stainless steels. AWS D1.1 required.
- Layout and fabricate from blueprint or sketch.
- Communicate with employees and supervisors from all departments to identify problems and develop solutions.
- Repair and upkeep of buildings and building systems as required.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting including motor control circuits and changing out motors.
- Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Able to work independently or with a team.
- Must have an AWS D1.1 certification.
- Rigging and lifting
- Must have the ability to work with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems; L2L, MP2, Maximo, etc.) a plus.
- Must be able to operate a manlift and forklift.
- Must be able to enter confined spaces and climb fixed/portable ladders.
- Must be able to operate cranes and be able to obtain operating certificate for mobile cranes.
- NFPA 70E certification a plus (If you do not currently hold a certificate you will be trained).
- Basic First Aid and CPR.
Interested and willing to work overtime? Our current staff earns between $58,000 to $100,000 or more per year with overtime. Working night shift earns a shift differential of $0.90. Employees have a chance to earn up to $400 per month with our gain share program. You can take part in company-sponsored learning opportunities at Ivy Tech, which can increase your hourly rate by up to $2 per hour for each certification achieved.
Start with us at an increased pay rate for every certificate you provide. After finishing a 90-day probationary period, employees qualify for a paid day off incentive for every 120 days of perfect attendance, along with ten observed holidays during the calendar year. We work a continental shift with a predictable schedule of three on one week and four the following week.
