What You’ll Bring
Position Function – Under supervision, perform routine heavy‑labor duties in a food service area.
Duties & Responsibilities- Organize, scrape, prewash, lift and rack items to be washed; set up and operate the pan washing machine; store items; maintain a sanitary work area.

stoop, crouch, reach, grasp, walk, stand, lift up to 100 lb occasionally, 50 lb frequently, 20 lb constantly; visual reading of cleaning labels and vehicle operation. - Sweep, mop, and scrub floors; wash walls and ceilings throughout food service areas.

stoop, crouch, reach, grasp, push, pull, climb, stand, lift, balance; lift up to 100 lb occasionally, 50 lb frequently, 20 lb constantly; use mops, buckets, brooms, ladders, floor scrapers. - Clean greasy or soiled food service areas and equipment (refrigerators, ovens, motors, vents, walls, ceilings).
- Renovate and renew floor surfaces; perform related cleaning tasks (windows, ceiling fixtures); change light bulbs; clean and resupply restrooms.
- Dispose of trash, refuse and waste materials; clean refuse containers and areas.

bend, stoop, reach, grasp, walk, lift up to 100 lb occasionally, 50 lb frequently, 10 lb constantly; use hoses, compactor, gloves. - Lock and unlock food service areas to ensure security.
- Obtain and deliver supplies and materials as necessary.
- Train and direct student personnel as assigned.
- Maintain correct safety and sanitation standards.
- Lift heavy objects as needed.
- Receive, store, inventory and issue food supplies and equipment.
- Remove, arrange, replace, and move dining furniture and equipment.
- Assist with dishwashing and storage.
- Date and price stock items as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Clean body, teeth, hair, nails, and clothing.
- No allergies to soaps, cleaning agents, chemicals, or other materials or environmental factors in food service.
- Ability to read and comprehend all specified policies and procedures for safety, hazardous materials information, and University policies.
- Ability to perform all physical and mental requirements outlined in each job duty/responsibility.
- At least one year of work experience (full time or part time).
- Age 18 or older.
- Six months successful employment in a commercial custodial position performing similar duties to those expected at BSU.
