Overview:Sterling Engineering/Staffing is currently looking for a Project Engineer for one of our clients in the Muncie, IN area. Sterling has a rich history of delivering top talent to our clients. We are a nationwide Staffing Firm with over 100 clients and works primarily with Fortune 1000 corporations.
Hourly Rate:$55-65/hr

Job Description:Responsible for developing and implementing electrical test solutions for locomotive assemblies and systems. This role analyzes electrical schematics, creates manufacturing test plans, designs test interfaces and automated test software, and supports production by troubleshooting complex electrical issues and driving timely resolution.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Analyze and interpret locomotive electrical schematic to develop electrical test of manufactured assemblies / systems
- Understand software options that satisfy customer requirements, and their impact on the electrical schematic
- Develop a testing / manufacturing verification plan for electrical assemblies
- Design, develop, and document electrical test interfaces as dictated by test plan
- Design and develop automated test software programs to support manufacturing test plan
- Manage, coordinate, and communicate status of all test development deliverables per customer order or shop schedule
- Identify and resolve electrical testing issues that arise during manufacturing
- Conduct design reviews as required for all phases of electrical test development
- Effectively communicate issues to the appropriate design areas for resolution
- Stay abreast of new electrical test technology and potential impact on production
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Proficiency and experience with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer-required
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings
- Familiarity with basic electrical control devices
- 3 – 5 years of experience designing electrical tests or systems
- High level of analytical ability where problems are difficult and complex
- Understanding of electrical design and manufacturing processes
- Ability to travel as needed
