Objectives & Role:
  • Build & Empower High‑Performing Teams:
    You are not just a manager; you are a mentor. You will hire, onboard, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of feedback, psychological safety, and continuous growth. You raise the bar for talent within the department.
  • Orchestrate Delivery Excellence:
    You own the “How.” You ensure the team ships value consistently by optimizing agile workflows, removing roadblocks, and ensuring smooth operations. You minimize operational noise so your team can focus on deep work.
  • Bridge Strategy & Execution:
    You translate high‑level company goals into actionable technical objectives. You work closely with Product Managers to balance feature delivery with technical debt reduction, ensuring we move fast without breaking things.
  • Drive Technical Health:
    While you may not code every day, you possess the technical acumen to challenge architectural decisions, guide RFCs, and ensure the team adheres to SDLC best practices, security standards, and Dev Ops principles.
  • Master Conflict & Problem Solving:
    You are the escalation point for critical issues. You resolve conflicts promptly, shield the team from distractions, and act as a stabilizing force (“The Lighthouse”) during high‑pressure moments.

    You instill an entrepreneurial spirit in the team by encouraging ownership, customer‑centric thinking, and a drive to understand the “why” behind every line of code.
Your Expertise, Skills & Mindset:
  • Real Seniority:
    Not defined by years of experience but by a drive for continuous improvement, direct business impact, and ownership.
  • Proven Leadership

    Experience:

    4+ years in software engineering, with significant experience leading or managing teams in a fast‑paced SaaS or IoT scale‑up environment.
  • Technical Fluency:
    You have a strong background in software development (ideally Type Script, Node.js, or Python) and understand cloud architectures (AWS). You can speak the same language as your seniors and help juniors grow.
  • Agile Native:
    You have deep proficiency with project management tools (Linear, Jira) and agile methodologies. You know how to use data to improve team velocity and release frequency.
  • People‑First Mentality:
    You possess high emotional intelligence (EQ). You are proactive, empathetic, and capable of motivating a diverse team. You hold yourself and others accountable with kindness and clarity.
  • Operational Rigor:
    You are structured and conscientious. You can manage complex stakeholders and communicate effectively with both engineers and C‑level executives.
  • Communication:
    Excellent English communication skills (C1+) are mandatory. German proficiency is a strong plus.
Technologies We Work With:

  • Backend:
    Event‑driven microservices in Python and NodeJS (NestJS).
  • Frontend:
    Monorepo powered by Turbo, pnpm, change sets, and Storybook, primarily using Vue.js.
  • Frameworks/Libraries:
    Adoption of Type Script, NestJS, BullMQ, and Prisma for backends in an opinionated monorepo approach.
  • Databases:
    Amazon RDS, Dynamo

  • Orchestration & CI/CD:
    We manage our container orchestration with Kubernetes (EKS), using Keda and Karpenter for dynamic autoscaling. Our CI/CD is powered by Git Lab.
  • Infrastructure as Code:
    Terraform for AWS provisioning.
  • Serverless:
    Leveraging AWS Lambda and the Serverless framework for high‑throughput endpoints.
Work Setup:
  • Hours:

    40 hours per week (based on trust).
