Tech Lead Web-TV Platform

Stott and May are proud to be working in collaboration with a highly innovative market leading IPTV streaming platform based on its own 12,000-kilometre-long fibre optic infrastructure, reaching more than 7 million users and continuously growing. We are looking for a technical leader like you to shape our TV and web apps with vision and code excellence. As Tech Lead you will take over the architecture governance of our React and React Native platform, lead the Web TV Platform team and spend at least 50% of your time hands‑on in code.

Together with product, video and app teams, you will ensure consistent, high‑performance living‑room experiences on browsers, smart TVs (Tizen, webOS), Amazon Vega, Tivo OS and Xperia.

• Architecture & Vision:
  You shape our technical platform strategy - from the overarching architecture and shared component library to coding best practices, performance budgets and decision guidelines.
• Hands‑on development:
  You will actively develop the React Native‑based Vega app and the front‑end architecture of flagship product
• Team Leadership:
  You not only take over the technical leadership of our Web TV Platform team, but also inspire and develop your colleagues.
• Governance & Enablement - you develop our coding standards, review processes and support the feature teams
• Guild & Community:
  You support web TV matters in the Video Experience Guild and share your knowledge with your colleagues.
• Stakeholder Management - you work closely with Product Management and represent the engineering view in the Web TV backlog and report directly to the Head of Development.

• 8+ years JavaScript/Type Script, including 4+ years React.
• You are a Typescript professional and have developed React + React native in production environments for several years.
• Successful leadership of small architecture or platform teams (Staff, Principal, Lead).
• You are a communication talent (German & English) and love to pass on your knowledge as a coach and inspire others.

• Contributions to OSS projects in the media environment
• Experience with video playback stacks (DASH/HLS, EME, DRM)
• Experience with 10‑Foot‑UX (focus handling, remote navigation, typography, contrast)
• Practice in low‑power optimisation (memory capping, GPU overdraw)
